I'm a Southern California native - spoiled, I know. I met my husband in high school and we've been married now for 40 years. We have 5 children and 5 grandchildren...so far. I didn't discover my gift of writing until our children were well into their teenage years. This gift was born out of the need to express myself, to find my voice. Words are powerful, both spoken and written. My desire to inspire came through the need and appreciation for both.
As a busy mom, bedtime was like putting a ribbon around our day. It wasn't just about finally having a quiet house (although I did look forward to that). But, sending our kids off to sleep peacefully and without stress, was important to me. So, bedtime stories abounded in our home. Some read from their favorite books, some told out of my imagination as they drifted off to sleep. We had shelves of books. Now that our kids are grown, stories lay untold in my mind and are just waiting to be let loose.
The Old Woman and The Mouse may have just opened up the flood gates of what's to come. I have many projects that I'm working on; a number of children's books (some with that fun rhyming flow), a chapter book for preteens, and more. This is all new to me. The timing of it all is....well, all I can do is be consistent and committed, super motivated...AND faithful to the One who has graciously given me my imagination and uncovered the gold inside of me to shine.
